Hubungan Antara Keberhasilan Pengobatan Tuberkulosis Paru Yang Dipantau Oleh Pengawas Minum Obat (PMO) Dengan Yang Tidak Di RS PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Tahun 2012-2013
Abstract
Pulmonary Tuberculosis (TBC) is a chronic problem that is contagius and becomes a high health concern in the world, especially in Indonesia with increasing numbers. Treatment in patients with tuberculosis is determined with combination. WHO recommends the treatment with DOTS strategy, one of which is through medication taking supervisors who supervise the patients to take TBC medication during the treatment period. Purpose: To determine the correlation of pulmonary tuberculosis treatment success rate monitored by medication taking supervisors with those unmonitored. Research Method: This research uses observation analytic method with cross sectional plan using chi square test with minimum sample of 82. Independent variable of this research is medication taking supervisors, while the dependent variable is medication sucess rate. Result: There are 132 Pulmonary Tuberculosis Patients of 73 males (55%) and 59 females (45%), 92 (70%) of which are of productive age and 40 (30%) of which are non productive age. The role of medication taking supervisor (PMO+) number is 86 (65%), while the role of medication taking supervisor (PMO -) number is 46 (35%). The success rate of BTA- result medication is 92 (69,7%) and BTA + of 40 (30.3%). The chi square statistic analysis results in p = 0,000; PR = 0,21 which shows significant correlation. Conclusion: There is a correlation between the role of PMO towards the sucess rate of pulmonary tuberculosis medication at RS PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta year 2012-2013.
