dc.description.abstractBackground: One of the identity data printed on the SIM card is the thumb fingerprint image of right hand. Objective: to determine the differences readibility on thumb fingerprints of right hand printed on the sim card. Method: The study was observational descriptive cross-sectional conducted on 97 medical students class of 2015 and class of 2016 at the Faculty of Medicine, Islamic University of Indonesia. The data obtained were analyzed by chi-square test. Result: The 97 printed fingerprints, 65 (67.0%) fingerprint patterns read with loop ulna pattern has the largest percentage of 55.7%, loop radial pattern 1.0%, double loop pattern 4.1%, arch pattern 5.2%, and whorl patterns 34.0%. While the ridge count of fingerprints that read 27 (27.8%) on the SIM card compared to the original fingerprint. The result of fisher test of comparison pattern obtained p value = 1,000 and comparison of ridge count got p value = 0,000. Conclusions: There is no difference readability patter on thumb fingerprint of the right hand on the SIM card, but there is difference ridge count on thumb of the right hand on the stamped with ridge count on thumb of the right hand on the SIM card .en_US
