Financial planning is needed in daily life are used to determine the direction for managing
finances. Most previous studies focused on managing family finances only, not much
research on the private management for students. Many of the students as well as students of
Islamic economics do not understand about islam good financial planning, there are many
who tend to waste. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between
knowledge and social environment of the student Islamic economy Islamic financial planning
and financial planning comparing students majoring in Islamic economy Islamic University
of Indonesia and the State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga. This research method using
descriptive quantitative method. The data collection method that is used to divide the
questionnaire to the student respondents Islamic Economics Islamic University of Indonesia
and the State Islamic University Sunan Kalijaga by the number of respondents as many as 60
students. The results of this study concluded that social environment pengetahuandan
significant effect on Islamic financial planning UII students and UIN Sunan Kalijaga. And
based on the Mann-Whitney test for student financial planning comparative test UII Islamic
economy and UIN Sunan Kalijaga known that on average 36.70% of the students the
university has better knowledge. While the UIN students have an average of 24.30% of the
students who have a good knowledge. Comparison shows that the social environment on
average 35.10% UIN students have a better environment. Meanwhile, UII students have an
average of 25.90% of the students who have a good social environment.
