Partial pregelatinization technique and co-process with combination with HPMC useful to improve of poorly flowability’s and compressibility’s taro root starch so resulted optimal starch granulation. The aims of research is to formulate Ascorbic Acid tablets using taro root starch by combination of partial pregelatinization methods and co-process use HPMC. Ascorbic Acid tablets is made by direct compression in three formulas with difference of filler-binder agents types that is Avicel PH 102, modified taro root starch combination of HPMC, and combination of them. Evaluation physically for powder (flow rate, silence angle, and compressibility) and tablet (hardness, weight uniformity, friability, disintegration, and dissolution). Evaluation physically for tablet showed that 8,8 kg (FI); 2,28 kg (FII); 4,5 kg (FIII) of hardness; no weight of tablets exceeds the limit deviation of weight uniformity; 0,077 % (FI); 0,645 % (FII); 0,177 % (FIII) of friability; 2,517 minutes (FI); 13,043 minutes (FII); 2,790 minutes (FIII) of disintegration; and 104,35 % (FI); 78,44 % (FII); 102,40 % (FIII) of dissolved Ascorbic Acid within 45 minutes. Overally data was analized descriptively. Conclusions is formula with use single modified starch combination of HPMC showed that poorly evaluation physically of tablet.en_US
