Strengthening of the structure is an attempt to improve the performance of risky building structures to the new load that will be supported by adding new structural elements that are not available or did not exist at the time the structure was built. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of (1) the addition of steel strip plates on reinforced concrete beams so it can be determined its effect on the beam flexural strength, (2) knowing the behavior of addition of steel strip plates on reinforced concrete beam, (3) it istimates the cost of what it takes to make the research reinforced flexible beam of reinforced concrete beam using steel strip plates. One of widely used strengthening materials is a Steel Plate “stripplat”. The strength of the material was tested when mounted on reinforced concrete beams, which can determine its effect on flexible strength of the beam. Sample beams used in this study are 150x200x1000 mm3 in size. Total beams used are 4 pieces and divided into 2 groups: Control Beam (BK) and the Addition Beam (BP). One beams as a control beam loaded to maximum capacity and then the remaining three beams were reinforced with addition of stell after those three beam are loaded 70% from maximum capacity control beam and then the test beams also loaded until maximum capacity and showed comparison of maximum load that can be held by the two groups of beams. Retrofitting using Steel Plate “stripplat” is effective, because this material capable of withstanding the laod. Moreover, this material profile is very easy to find, and than this material profile is smooth, so it will not make worse the view of structure and not increase the load of structures. Results of research and analysis using Steel Plate “stripplat”showed an increase in the flexible strength of the beams. The layers of a Steel Plate “stripplat” performed in the bottom of beam with a width of 150 mm and thick of Steel Plate “stripplat” is 12mm. Steel Plate “stripplat” reinforcement beam test with code BP-1 increased by 171,6488% againt the average value of the control beam, the beam BP-2 flexible strength increased by 192,4676%, dan beam BP-3 increased by 167,4676%en_US
