Jatropha multifida Linn. is an ornamental plant that has a strong antibacterial benefit. Some of the world's population has been applying this plant as antibacterial for some infection diseases. The purpose of this research was to develop the potential of the compounds that contained in Jatropha multifida Linn. maximally becomes a drug that utilized by the community. Extract of ethyl acetate stem of Jatropha multifida Linn. as much as 25 mg is inserted into the polymer ratio HPMC K15 : PVP (1:2) as a patch formula which will be test against Staphylococcus aureus and Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus bacteria to determine the ability of patch in inhibiting bacterial growth. Results of the test include the physical character of patch resulting transparent form, flat surface, non-bubbly, typical smell, and slightly oily. The average measurement of total flavonoid content was 430,820±42,79 μg RE / g patch and the mean total phenol content was 487,244±40,65 μg GAE / g patch. The result of effectiveness test showed that the obstacles zone formed are inhibiting bacteria growth with the average obstacles zone in the test against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria 105 CFU/ml is 11.7 mm and on the test against Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus 105 CFU/ml is 11 mm.en_US
