    Abstract
    This writing contains architectural criticism on the design of VIP room inpatient RS PKU Muhammadiyah Wonosobo relation with dimensional comfort space measured based on ethnic Malay anthropometry and barrier-free design standards. The goal is to obtain room efficiency formula that considers the effectiveness in use, then to know its effect on RAB, building area and effectiveness ratio. The analysis was performed on the VIP room, the main room and the bathroom. The results show that VIP rooms can make efficiency 1.28m2 with the increase of effectiveness ratio per-room that reduce typical net floor area by 4%. This leads to, firstly, decreasing of gross floor area per-bed and a decrease in RAB by 4%, meaning that the building area becomes more efficient, secondly, the decrease of building effectiveness ratio, meaning the net area proportion of the building is no more effective. Therefore, there is a need for further study on the effort of efficiency besides the net area to make efficient the design in area and effective in use.
