dc.description.abstractIn New Order era (1966-1998), Indonesian Government encourages the government building to be built with traditional characteristics as a result of man-made culture influenced by local cultures. Javanese architecture, as a regional characteristic of Javanese people, has values in planning which is identical with philosophy, aesthetics, and ethics. This research purpose is to find out how the Javanese Architecture in Sub-District Government Office in Ngawi Regency has changed. This research also sees through the adaptability of Javanese Architecture towards certain location with distinct environmental characteristics in the certain area at Javanese architecture typology with the true regionalism approach in order to make the planning and designing better and more optimal in the future. The gathered information then grouped and processed into writing substances with a qualitative and descriptive approach. The analysis methods are with comparison tables for building layout, spatial layout, and building elements. The result is to show the presence of parts of Javanese Architecture which has a certain pattern or static and part of the change in shapes and function.en_US
