dc.description.abstract | Pangeran Antasari Street has a u-turn which leads to Siradj Salman
Street. Because of the u-turn, there was a quite long queue and vehicle
speed reduction. The purposes of this research were to find the
performance of the u-turn, the performance of the road segment, and the
alternatives which expected to increase the effectiveness u-turn and road
segement. The analysis method referred to the 1997’s MKJI and the
median opening evaluation from PPPB 06/BM/2005. Then the traffic
modeling was conducted in VISSIM software. The result of the research
was the existing u-turn performance in the north-to-south direction had a
queue and time delay of 17,28 meters and 12,08 seconds. In comparison,
the south-to-north direction had a 24,59 meters queue and 9,86 seconds
time delay. The existing road segment performance in the north-to-south
direction had a mean speed of 28,33 km/hour, while the south-to-north
direction has a mean velocity of 29,78 km/hour. The best alternative was
moving the median opening 100 meters north and adding a new median
opening 100 meters apart from the previous median. From the
alternative, an increase of 68,60% in the mean velocity, 98,49% in the
queue, and 91,85% in time delay are seen in the north-to-south direction.
Meanwhile, the south-to-north direction had an increase of 48,72% in the
mean velocity, 72,65% in the queue, and 73,25% in the time delay. | en_US |
