    Abstract
The development of higher education in Semarang City has made Muhammadiyah Semarang University (UNIMUS) strive to continue to improve the quality and quantity of facilities and infrastructure to support lecture activities. The construction project of the University Hospital of Muhammadiyah Semarang is located on Jalan Kedungmundu Raya 18, Kedungmundu, Tembalang, Semarang City. Building A has shearwall on the emergency stairs and elevator and has large columns of 70 x 90 cm and 70 x 70 cm so that the building is too rigid and inefficient. The structural redesign of Building A of the University Hospital of Muhammadiyah Semarang which consists of 10 floors with an open frame structure. The main focus of this planning is to reduce column dimensions so that they are more efficient and less rigid but still within safe limits according to applicable requirements. The method used in this research is to model the upper and lower structures of Building A of UNIMUS Hospital using a conventional plate structure model. Calculation of loading analysis using SAP2000 application. The results of the changes in the dimensions of the columns that are minimized affect the stability coefficient of the structure. Structural responses in the form of base shear, lateral displacement, and story drift, from the results of re-planning and existing show safe limits. Some bore pile dimensions have not changed but the reinforcement used is heavier than the existing and some have changed, the size is smaller, and the reinforcement used is heavier than the existing. The existing RAB amounted to Rp18,841,631,615 while the re-planning RAB amounted to Rp17,306,609,399, the difference was Rp.1,535,022,215 and obtained an efficiency of 8.4170%.
