dc.description.abstractDevelopment of Terminal Multi Purpose at Kuala Tanjung especially on behandle area has a very small soil bearing capacity so that construction can’t be done on the original soil, then done preloading. But the problem that often arises on the hoarding is the decline of the soil. To overcome the problem of hoarding need reinforcement using geotextile or gravity retaining wall will. Calculation of the embankment stability using finite element method with the help of Plaxis 8.2 software to know lanslide field and secure number due to load of embankment, vehicle load and earthquake load. Result of stability analysis of embankment in drained conditions using Plaxis version 8.2 get the value a safety factor on the embankment without reinforcement of 1.367, on embankments with geotextile reinforcement of 1.590 and on embankments with gravity retaining wall of 1.515.en_US
