The slashed wound is categorized into acute wounds in the form of trauma, new, sudden and rapid healing. The slashed wound is an injury that occurred because sliced by a sharp instrument. Centella asiatica extract had the potential to be developed as a cure for slashed wound because of an active compound named asiatikosida which is able to accelerate the wound healing process. Previous study showed that multiple emulsions preparation of Centella asiatica extract had a better stability preparation because multiple emulsions preparation was able to confine and protect the system for controlled release of active substances. The aims of the study were to determine the effectiveness of wound healing by pegagan extract and to determine the optimal dose also the fastest time of the multiple emulsions Centella asiatica extract as a healing therapy on male rabbits slashed wound. The extract was made into multiple emulsions preparation and then tested its effectiveness on 6 male rabbits. Effectiveness test was conducted using Morton Method by slashed each rabbit back and divided it into 6 groups: positive group with betadine®, negative group without the administration, base group multiple emulsions, a multiple emulsions group of pegagan extract 0,5g/inch2, a multiple emulsions group of pegagan extract 1g/inch2, and a multiple emulsions group of pegagan extract 2g/inch2. The results of the observations which has done in 21 days were analyzed descriptively by observe the signs of erythema, allergic reactions, local infections and slashed wounds healing time. The results showed that the preparation of multiple emulsions Centella asiatica extract had a healing effectiveness of the slashed wound. Preparation of multiple emulsions Centella asiatica extract at doses of 0,5g /inch2, 1g /inch2, and 2g /inch2 had the same effectiveness with positive control in the healing of rabbits slashed wound that was for 7-8 days.en_US
