dc.description.abstract | Education is a continuous process to transform students into man according to the purpose of its creation to give worthwhile or benefit for themselves, for others, for the whole universe along with all its contents and civilization. Bioethics education is one of the core competencies of the transformation process in the curriculum of medical education for physicians realize the moral and professional competence. Since 2008 faculty of medicine Islamic University of Indonesia (FM IUI) has applied bioethics education through lectures, skill practices, and assignments. Starting in 2012 FM IUI has tried to inculcate bioethics in professional behavior in the form of honesty, discipline, responsibility, integrity and honor behavior in medicolegal block. Bioethics inculcation in professional behavior in FM UII have problems due to lack of role models. Tutors came late in discussion and skill practice is common. Tutors did not have the courage to remind students were late and refused to enter the room. Negatives behavior were found in the inculcation of bioethics as a professional behavior including the plagiarism, bullying, lying, falsifying signatures, cheating, no discipline, and inconsistent. For inculcating bioethics need more effort, more tools or instrument, role models, and more energy or resources as well as solid team and high commitment from dean. The most serious problem is the lack of sanctions for students who have poor professional conduct. | en_US |
