    Abstract
Mahkota dewa (Phaleria macrocarpa Boerl) is one of the plants of drug which has been found special quality to treats various diseases. Mahkota dewa contains active compounds from flavonoids, terpenoids, alkaloids and polyphenols groups, however the structure of active compounds in methanol extract have not identified yet. Identification of flavonoids from the flesh of mahkota dewa has been conducted. Isolation and separation has been done by extraction method and thin layer chromatography. Preface identification has been made by thin layer chromatography using eluen of n-hexane, ethyl acetate, methanol, n-buthanol acetic acid and water. Authentication purity of flavonoids is made by twodimensional thin layer chromatography. Separation of flavonoids using preparative thin layer chromatography. Fraction has been obtained were dissolved in methanol and were measured its spectrum at wave-length 200 to 400 nm by UV-Vis spectrophotometer using shift reagents, NaOH, A1C13, HC1, NaOAc and H3B03. Preface identification using thin layer chromatography be able to showed 4 fraction with Rr = 78.75, 70.00, 56.25, and 50.00. The best eluen in development using thin layer chromatography is n-buthanol : acetic acid •water 9.2:6 (v/v). Identification using thin layer chromatography and UV-Vis' spectrophotometer have been given aresult that the first fraction (R, - 78 75) and the second fraction (Rf=70.00) contained flavonoids. The result of its spectrum interpretation, flavonoids which be able to suggested in fraction 1 is flavanon with 5,7,3, and 4-OH groups (5,7,3',4'-tetrahydroxy flavanon). Flavonoid in fraction 2is flavonol with ortho-diOH groups at 6,7 or 7,8 ; 3' and 4' -OH groups ; and there is oxygenation at >or 8.
