dc.description.abstractiabetes mellitus is a complex disease, chronic and can cause a significant burden on the health and economic aspects of society). Diabetes Control and Complications Trial (DCCT) conducted in America has proven that controlling blood glucose levels close to normal can prevent the complications of diabetes mellitus. Therefore, it takes the involvement ofvarious stakeholders in achieving successful management of diabetes mellitus. active participation of patients and families is needed to improve the patient's condition. Family support is given not only covers medical terms, but also the psychosocial aspects of the patient. They include the psychosocial aspects of illness acceptance and quality of life of patients. Purposes:researchto determine theform offamily supportgiven topatientswith type 2diabetesmellitusinthe RegionalPonorogoEast Java2014.Methods: Thestudy is aqualitativecase studyapproach. Data collection wasconductedby means ofin-depth interviewsand observation. The subjects ofthe studywere6people consistingoffamilymembersof3patients, and3patients withtype II DMinregionponorogoeastern Java. Results: foundisproviding support to thefamilytreatmentofpatientsgood DMemotionalsupport, appreciation, andinstrumentaland informational support. Family support isobtainedby making he patient performtreat mentof patient sroutinely and regularly whic hcanimprovethe patient'sphysical and psychologicalwell-being.en_US
