    Abstract
DISTRIBUTION OF RADIOACTIVITY GROSS β AND NATURAL RADIONUCLIDES IDENTIFY IN WATER, SEDIMENT AND BIOTA ON SURFACE WATER AND COASTAL AREASI IN SURABAYA CITIES have been evaluated. Twelve location were selected with random sampling in some river, estuary and coastal areas of Surabaya cities. The sample consist of water (fresh, estuary and coastal), sediment, eichhornia crassipes (Mart) Solms, Mangrove (Rhizophora stylosa), (Moolgarda delicatus) and (Johnius (Johnieops) borneensis)(Sharpnose hammer croaker). Water has evaporated; Sediment are cleaned, dried and attenuated; dusty biota at temperature 500°C is later; then evaluated the distribution of radioactivity β with Geiger Muller Counter Ortec 401 A. The result showed that the gross- β natural samples activity were lower than the threshold value of local government regulation of Surabaya no: 2 year 2004 (1 Bq/l). Distribution of activity gross- β from eichhornia crassipes (Mart) Solms was higher than the other biota, water and sediment. Result identify with the spectrometry-v showing 7 type of radioisotope of beta emitter detected, they are 210Pb, 212Pb, 214Pb; 208Tl, 214Bi, 228AC and 40K in all of sample. The Nature Radioisotope existence indicate that river, estuary and coastal areas of Surabaya are not yet contamination by radionuclide made in fissile result. Factor of distribution FD < Factor of Bioaccumulation FB and indicated that was the existence transfer of radionuclide pass through to water - sediment - biota and finally radionuclide accumulation in aquatic organism. Key words : gross β radioactivity, factor of bioaccumulation, and factor of distribution
