    Abstract
An acetylsalicylic acid plant (Aspirin) with raw materials for salicylic acid and anhydrous acetate is planned to be established in Mariana, Musi Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra with a capacity of 10,000 tons / year with a land area of 53,290 m 2 . The factory operates 330 days a year. The process of making acetylsalicylic acid is continous stirred tank flow reactor (CSTR). The reaction takes place in an irreversible, exothermic, liquidliquid phase, at a temperature of 90 C and a pressure of 1 atm. Exothermic reaction so that the heat is taken where the cooling coil is installed using a water cooling medium. Salicylic acid requirements for this plant are 977,767 tons / year with a purity of 99.5% and anhydrous acetate requirement of 726,347 tons / year with a purity of 99%. The reaction product is separated by using a Centrifuge and Rotary Drier to remove the liquid content in the product. The product yield is in the form of acetylsalicylic acid (Aspirin) with 99.5% purity of 1262.6263 tons / year. Supporting utilities include 45,194.20 kg / hr of cooling water obtained from river water, 17,665.32 kg / hr of steam supplied, from the boiler with fuel oil of 11,343.47 kg / hr and electricity demand obtained from PLN and one generator amounted to 202.94 KW, fuel as much as 22.1232 kg / hour or 530.947 kg / day. This factory has a fixed capital investment value of Rp. 605,301,173,869 and USD $ 43,235,798 Working Capital Rp. 1,521,946,806,505 and USD $ 108,710,486, Manufacturing Cost Rp. 1,579,935,755,169 and USD $ 112,852,553 and General Expense Rp. 379,804,590,445 and USD $ 27,128,899. Economic analysis shows profit before tax Rp 237,839,654,386 / year after tax Rp 118,919,827,193 / year, ROI value before tax of 39.29%, ROI value after tax of 19.65%, POT before tax of 2.1 years, POT after tax 3,6 years. The BEP value is 44.85% and the SDP is 29.42%. Discounted Cash Flow Rate (DCFR) of 10.67%. Based on these results it can be concluded that the plant acetylsalicylic acid (Aspirin) from salicylic acid and acetic anhydrous with a capacity of 10,000 tons / year is profitable and is worth considering for establishment in Indonesia.
