    Abstract
Preliminary design ofPhthalic Anhydridefor 45000 ton/year ofcapacities O-xylene and Air (oxygen) oxidation ofPthalic Anhydride with purity 99%. This plant is planned to be built in Tangerang, Banten. Itcovers 35000m ofland and needs 146 employees. It works continuallyfor 24 hours /dayand330 day/year. This process is using Von Heyden Method. The process of reaction is exothermic using V205 as catalyst toproduce Phthalic Anhydride in FixedBed Multitube Reactor at 35(fCand 1,4Atm. Process unit requires 5390.10 kg/hour ofO-xylene and96074.01 kg/hour ofair, whereas utility unit needs 133223.9788 kg/hour water for cooling, 1152,576 kg/hour water for domestic, 97589,69147 kg/hour ofsteam, 194,403 KWelectricity, 476,394 kg/hour offuel oil, Economic evaluation shows that Fixed Capital ofRp 165.474.829.874,14, profit before taxes Rp. 75.563.373.262,23 profit after taxes Rp.52.894.361.283,56,.From feasibility studies result Break Even Point (BEP) of 45,33% (BEP requisite inIndonesia 40-60%), Shut Down Point (SDP) of20,53% andDiscounted Cash FlowRate ofReturn (DCFR) of34%. Meanwhile Return on Investment Before Taxes (ROIb) of 26% (ROI b requiste for high riskplant > 44%) andReturn onInvestment After Taxes (ROI a) of18%. Pay Out Time Before Taxes (POTb) 2,7 yearsa (POT b requiresfor high risk plant< 2 years)andPay Out Time After Taxes (POT a) 3,472% in a row. Based on this economic evaluaton it can be concluded that Pthalic Anhydride Plant of45000 ton/year is economicallyfeasibility.
