dc.description.abstract | This study was conducted in a company which has an job satisfaction issue among its employees. At the same time the company does not have KPI and core competency indicators on which performance appraisal can be based. The absent of a sound performance appraisal system is suspected to cause the dissatisfaction as employees were not very sure about how they performed in their work. Job satisfaction refers to a feeling of an individual concerning with the job he or she has. This feeling is a result of an assessment of his or her job as it relates to how the job fulfills his or her needs. This research aims to observe whether the performance assessment based upon KPI and core competency indicators is able to improve the job satisfaction among employees of a start up Media Company. The subjects of this research were 14 employees in the editorial division. This research used the action research method by collecting data through the questionnaires of job satisfaction survey (JSS), performance assessment forms, interview, FGD, and document study. Based on the Wilcoxon test, the result showed Z= 2,107 and obtained sig. P = 0,035 (< 0,05), this result showed that there is an improvement of job satisfaction of the employees in the start up media company after they were given the performance assessment based on clear indicators. | en_US |
