    Abstract
    Preliminary plant design of Aluminium Sulfite with capacity 4000 ton/year is planned to be built in Cilegon, the province Banten, in the area of land 30.000 m2. This chemical plant will be operated for 330 days/year or 24 hour a day with total 168 employees. Raw materials are needed Bauxite 1587,7558 kg/hour and Sulfuric Acid of about 635,5064 kg/hour. The production process will be operated at temperature 105;,C, at pressure of about 1 atm with total conversion of 41%. The utility needed consist of 58.840,6153 kg/hour of water, 6725,3381 kg/hour of steam, and 297,9292 Kwh of electricity. From an economic shows that this chemical plant need to be covered by fixed capital of about USS 2,009,932.487 and working capital of about Rp 18.177.391.640. The profit before tax is US$ 923,612.9 while profit after tax is USS 461,806.4404. Percentage of Return on Invesment (ROI) before tax is 21,37% while after tax is 11%. Pay Out Time (POT) after taxes is 3,9 years. The value of Break Even Point (BEP) for about 41%, while Shut Down Point (SDP) 17%. The value of Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) for about 31%. From an economic evaluation result, it can concluded that Aluminium Sulfite plant visible to be built.
