dc.description.abstractHas conducted research on the mole ratio of tetrabutyl ammonium bromide (TBAB) and dimethyl carbonate (DMC) as methylation agents to the yield of methylation of naphthol to 1-methoxy. The purpose of this study was to study the ratio of the catalyst transfer ratio for dimethyl carbonate to the formation of 1-methoxy naphthalene. The results of analysis of variations in the number of KTF 2 mmol, 4 mmol, and 6 mmol each had a yield value of 3.275%, 6.943% and 20.99% and DMC variations of 160 mmol and yields of 200 mmol produced 20.99% and 7.018% . The conclusion of this study is that the use of KTF in the methylation of naphthol increases a significant increase in the variation of the number of DMF resulting in yields that increase the decrease. Additional parameters are needed in the process of naphthol methylation starting from variations in KTF, DMC and time to obtain optimal results.en_US
