dc.description.abstractThe existence of Wukirsari landfill in Gunungkidul is identified as one of major source of pollutant on raw water source. Rainwater that passes through piles of garbage, which can lead to contamination of groundwater or surface water. This study was conducted in the area around of Wukirsari landfill with the purpose to analyze the quality of groundwater and surface water with the parameters such as iron and mangan ions. Furthermore, it can analyze the spread of iron and manganese in the area around Wukirsari Landfill. Atomic absorption spectrophotometry is used as a tool to measure the concentration of iron and manganese ions. The results showed that in May and September there are several locations that had concentrations above the quality standards and also below the quality standard. Samples in may 2015 has the highest concentration that exceeded standard quality of 13,746 for iron and 1.143 for manganese. The spread of leachate containing metal of iron and manganese tends to lead to the flow of the river and then spread around the riveren_US
