Disabled people are on a particular concern by society, the most common used devices for disabled people are wheelchairs. Research aspect on wheelchairs has been evolved over time, modernized wheelchair has become a popular engineering challenge. The initial study of human factor engineering is important in designing a wheelchair to be more comfortable for them in doing daily activities. The main objective of this final project is to optimize the design of existing automatic wheelchairs to suit with the anthropometry of Indonesian people. Standing and automatic control functionality are embedded in the design through its structure and mechanism. The standing posture can help patients to reach the higher place, moving from the chair to lie down on the bed and also useful to do exercise or deliver speech on podium. This mechanism should be safer, simpler in structure, and more economic. Vector equation analytical method is used to conduct kinematic analysis to obtain accurate kinematic properties of structural parts. The design was created by Computer Aided Design (CAD) software SOLIDWORKS and assembled to form the final product. Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is used to determine whether the design is within the safety factor boundaries for the structure and in the critical parts of the wheelchair assembly.en_US
