Sidiq, Muhammad Febriansyah Fajar; Fauziah, Miftahul
This study investigates the impact of unpaved road surface deterioration on vehicle travel speed and coal hauling volume along the STA 09+000 to STA 29+000 segment of the mining haul road operated by PT. Suprabari Mapanindo Mineral. The problem arises from frequent operational delays and decreased productivity due to unaddressed road damage, which significantly affects transportation efficiency in coal mining operations. A quantitative case study approach was applied, using direct field observations, condition mapping, and secondary data collection regarding hauling performance. The road condition was assessed using the Unsurfaced Road Condition Index (URCI) method, which evaluates seven types of surface distresses based on damage density and severity levels. URCI scores were then correlated with vehicle travel speed and weekly coal delivery volumes. The findings show that 85% of road segments achieved an “Excellent” rating with an average URCI value of 86.9%. After implementing targeted road maintenance based on URCI data, average truck speed increased from 37.16 km/h to 43.68 km/h, and weekly coal haulage rose from 62,599 tons to 73,203 tons. These results confirm that URCI is a reliable indicator for evaluating road serviceability and planning condition-based maintenance in mining logistics. The study contributes both theoretically, by demonstrating the extended applicability of URCI in industrial transportation contexts, and practically, by offering a decision-support tool for haul road maintenance prioritization and cost efficiency. Future research is encouraged to integrate URCI with real-time monitoring technologies such as GPS and IoT-based sensors for predictive road asset management.

<title>Pengaruh hambatan samping terhadap kinerja ruas Jalan Lempuyangan, Yogyakarta</title>

<description>Pengaruh hambatan samping terhadap kinerja ruas Jalan Lempuyangan, Yogyakarta
Mustika, Lalu Teguh Bangun Ananda; Kushari, Berlian
Lempuyangan Street is an important access to Lempuyangan Station. In addition, this road also connects traffic from the north (East Krasak Street, Yos Sudarso Street) to various directions, namely the south (Tukanan Street, Hayam Wuruk Street), west (Gang Widuri Street, Gang Widoro Street), and east (Argo Lubang Street, Wahidin Sudirohusodo Street). This road accommodates traffic loads from both directions. The Lempuyangan Road Survey collected primary data such as road geometry, vehicle volume and speed, and side obstacles. These data were analyzed using MKJI 1997 to evaluate road performance in existing conditions and with side obstacles, and to analyze the effect of side obstacles on road capacity. The Lempuyangan Road section's performance, analyzed using the 1997 MKJI method, reveals significant traffic challenges during peak hours. With a total traffic volume of 1161.2 smp/hour against a capacity of 1957 smp/hour, the road experiences an average travel speed of just 5.51 km/hour, far below the free flow speed of 44.09 km/hour, resulting in a degree of saturation (DS) of 0.59. This places the road's service level predominantly at Class D (DS 0.59, average speed 9.57 km/hour), though it can reach Class C (DS 0.39, average speed 14.44 km/hour) and even Class B (DS 0.13, average speed 19.45 km/hour) under less congested conditions. Critically, side obstacles are the most significant factor impacting capacity, causing a reduction of 943 smp/hour. Proposed solutions include road widening and, to mitigate side obstacles, enforcing illegal parking bans, relocating parking areas, and implementing e-ticketing for vehicles driving against traffic.

<title>Evaluasi kinerja simpang dan biaya konsumsi bahan bakar pada Simpang Empat Ketandan Ringroad Timur berdasarkan PKJI 2023 dan pemodelan VISSIM</title>

<description>Evaluasi kinerja simpang dan biaya konsumsi bahan bakar pada Simpang Empat Ketandan Ringroad Timur berdasarkan PKJI 2023 dan pemodelan VISSIM
Harahap, Rahmat Hadi W; Fauziah, Miftahul
The increasing vehicle volume at the Ketandan intersection on Ringroad East Yogyakarta has resulted in deteriorating traffic performance and higher fuel consumption due to excessive delays. Garuda Road, which provides direct access to the intersection, further aggravates the situation. This study aims to assess the intersection’s performance and propose solutions to enhance traffic efficiency and reduce fuel loss. Data were collected over two weekdays and one weekend day across three time periods. The analysis was conducted using the Indonesian Highway Capacity Guidelines (PKJI 2023) and PTV VISSIM microsimulation, with fuel consumption estimated using the LAPI ITB (2003) and Lamsal ATIS-India (2013) methods. The findings indicate that the current condition experiences a high degree of saturation (maximum 1.84), with average delays of 334.54 seconds per smp (PKJI) and 235.5 seconds per vehicle (VISSIM). Fuel losses were estimated at approximately IDR 3.6 million using the LAPI ITB method and IDR 1.4 million using the Lamsal method. Among the three proposed alternatives, Alternative 3 proved to be the most effective, involving the conversion of Jalan Garuda to a one-way street, prohibition of right turns, and adjustment of the signal cycle to 156 seconds. This scenario reduced delays to 129.6 seconds per vehicle and significantly lowered fuel losses. Despite improvements, the intersection still operates at Level of Service F.
