The robbing case of cultural assets in Sonobudoyo Museum is still not resolved yet until now. The absence of clue has dragged this case for so long. News related to this case has been questioned considering the role of media as the monitors of the government, moreover the online media which is very popular nowadays. Therefore, it is very important for people to know the quality of news regarding the robing of cultural assets in Sonobudoyo, Yogyakarta. The limited news regarding this case is one of the reasons to use Fisher’s exact test and chi-square. Data collecting method used in this research is quantitative content analysis by filling the coding sheets and data analysis method used is descriptive analysis integrated with Fisher’s exact test and chi-square. The population of this research is all news regarding the robbing case of cultural assets in Sonobudoyo Museum, Yogyakarta in portal news detik.com and kompas.com. News used in this research is news in August 2013 until December 2015 which is retrieved on December 20th, 2015 until January 9th, 2016. The results show that the news quality of robbing case in Sonobudoyo Museum, Yogyakarta found in detik.com and kompas.com are categorized as bad quality news. According to the statistic data, news quality of detik.com and kompas.com are proved to be bad based on its completeness, accuracy and balance.
