Dengue fever is a disease in Indonesia which is spread by mosquito vector Aedes aegypti. In order to reduce the incidence of dengue fever It was necessary to carry out some efforts to prevent it. One way to eradicate the larvae of the vector was using larvicides. Larvicides is a substance that can be used to kill mosquito larvae. Research on citronella, clove and lemon was done because these plants have the ability to repel mosquitoes. therefore, in this study test the activity of essential oils of citronella, clove and lemon as natural larvicidal was conducted. This study aimed to perform the granule preparation of essential oils, as well as DMSO solution of essential oils, for determining of LC50 values from larvae of Aedes aegypti. The preparation of essential oil granules was made using lactose filler and binder CMC-Na, whereas DMSO solution of essential oil was prepared by using solution of DMSO and Ethanol. Test of essential oil activity of essential oils was performed by using 20 larvae of mosquitoes for each larvacide and allowed to be exposed for 24 hours and 48 hours. Total mortality of larvae is calculated and analyzed by Finney probit analysis to determine result from the test showed that LC50 value from citronelal, clove, and lemon for granule larvacides were 455,282 ppm; 744,166 ppm; 654,001 ppm and for liquid larvacides were 104,063 ppm; 66,523 ppm; 293,097 ppm.
