One of the problems faced by almost all countries around the world including Indonesia is the problem of poverty. Various attempts have been made to reduce poverty. One way to overcome poverty is the support of people who are able to expend their wealth in the form of zakat. Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta through Independent Economic madrasah program with productive economic empowerment. The cultivation of zakat is productive with management means of zakat funds into venture capital. The aim of this study is to describe the strategic management of Independent Economic Madrasah program set by Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta \and describe the performance of Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta in implementing the strategic management of zakat fund management Independent Economic Madrasah program. The sort of research used by the author is a field research namely research in which the data and information obtained through interviews with relevant parties. In this case, the object of study is authorized Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta and mustahiq who receive zakat. In this thesis the author do data collection by: interview, observation and documentation study. The results of research by the author is that the strategic management of management and productive zakat of Madrasah Independent Economic program Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta has been applied and running properly, it can be seen from the process strategic management operational management of zakat funds productive and as for the performance Dompet Dhuafa Yogyakarta in implementing strategic management of productive zakat fund Madrasah Independent Economic Program using the optimal management of zakat and through the empowerment process. And the impact of acquired by mustahiq is the increasing in economic income, and be free of interest loans.
