Yogyakarta city as the capital and administrative center of Yogyakarta Special Region is the third largest city in the southern part of Java is based on population densities. It makes this city contains a variety of complex society with its various individual busyness. To avoid the nega­tive impacts, such as indifference to others, the decline in health conditions and tolerance toward others, the city needed a media that can be used as of recreational facilities and social interac­tion between individuals and groups. Sports, can be one of the main options with the ability to relate to city recreational facilities. Especially after seeing the interest of the people of Yogyakarta city high regard for public sports event on the last two in 2015. A park as a space that can offer a means of recreation and green space can be collaborated with the sport into a sports park are precisely located in Kridosono, the central of Kotabaru, Yogyakarta. Sports Park to anticipate the nature indifferent, health care, and accommodate the public interest depends on the selected design approach. Design approach to the Sports Park in Kri­dosono refers to the theories from Jan Gehl (2010) and the Llewelyn Davies Yang (2000) on the social space in an urban scale. The theory of the two can be a parameter in the design of out­door space in the garden. Among the park must meet the benchmarks as well as social space: Focused space, inclusive access and appearance, flexible space and intimate social relation. Sports park in Kridosono the social space as determinants of planning is a place to be used as a family recreation, communities and individuals. It poses an outdoor swimming pool, indoor and outdoor field, playground, sports stores, and retail food. Sports park in Kridosono expected to meet the needs of the city of Yogyakarta on sports facilities and can accommodate intimate interaction between the community or visitors inside.
