Sumbawa Airport Terminal is a passenger terminal which has an impressive at­mosphere of Sumbawa culture. The design of the passenger terminal has an approach from visual art (ornaments) and daylighting in order to create an interior atmosphere that represent the culture of Sumbawa architecture and nature. The design of this air­port’s passenger terminal aims to be an airline gateway in Sumbawa regency. The existence of Sumbawa island along with its culture is very uncommon for most people, only certain peoples who know Sumbawa like Travellers, Backpackers, and population around West Nusa Tenggara. Even, sometimes Sumbawa is misunder­stood as Sumba. But with the potential and originality that sumbawa has, like Istana Dalam Loka with original ornaments “Kemang Setange” and its daylighting elements. it is possible that Sumbawa still be able to develop more by using it. In the design process,  The function and the airport terminal space is shaded by the building envelope, integrated with ornament and natural light. It aims to give a visual impression for passengers who came from or to the island of Sumbawa. The method of the design process is by identifying a sun-path so that the body of the building is able to receive sunlight that will be used by the ornament to form inner space of the building. To realize the ornament of the light, the building envelope is in­tegrated with distorted kemang setange form. Thus, each room has a specific meaning and characteristics that based by user activity in it, and formed a memorable impres­sion of the space. Each room has different characteristics because of user activity tendency. In the hold room, the whole space is filled with ornament, so users who wait in the room may enjoy the details of the ornament. At the arrival hall, ornaments tend to be proprietary or focussed on a particular point, while in the check-in hall, ornament is functioned as directions of circulation.
