Yogyakarta-Wonosari road precisely in hilly areas, there has been a decrease in road subgrade about 7-9 cm, the subgrade can be seen from the height difference from the road side. At the study site,the soil parameters are in the form of clay, silt and soil in the form of hard rock, resulting the ground become unstable and not strong enough to withstand the rain water .in conditions described above, if the penetration of water goes to the ground,it will become unstable and the weakening will occur, so that the the dynamic loads on the layer will result in consolidation occurre and resulted in subsidence road. This study aimed to analyze the internal and external stability of the retaining wall due to extreme loads using PLAXIS 8.2, by modeling the slopes with extreme loads. It is to know the voltage that occurs at the retaining wall when it receives load and the extreme conditions of the slope, so with this study,it is expected to obtained a picture of the internal and external stability of the retaining wall on the condition. Results of slope modeling with two conditions of water level which is the water level is normal and the water level is extremes with vehicle load and seismic load,safety factor will be obtained. on the condition if the water level is normal with vehicle load of 1,153 <2 and to the conditions if the water level is normal with vehicle loads and earthquake loads of 1,145 <2, in conditions of extreme water levels,it will be obtained that the vehicle load safety factor is 1,105 <2 and to the conditions of extreme water level with the vehicle load and earthquake load, safety factor that obtained is 1,101 <2. External stability at extreme water level conditions with vehicle load,it will be obtained that stability to the shift is 1,243 <2, the stability of the verthrow is 1,894 <2 and the stability of the carrying capacity is 3,057> 3, while the stability of external on extreme water level condition with vehicle load and seismic load,it will be obtained that stability to the shift is 1,211 <2 , the stability of the overthrow is 1,844 <2 and the stability of the carrying capacity is 3,021> 3.
