An Overview Of The Knowledge And Attitudes Of The Millennial Generation Towards Online Purchasing For Pharmaceutical Products In Indonesia
Abstract
Background: Technological developments have significantly impacted the growth
and success of e-commerce, making it easier for businesses to reach customers,
which impacts the purchase of pharmaceutical products, which can now be done
online. Consumer attitudes in buying pharmaceutical products online can be
influenced by knowledge about products, content, safety, etc.
Aim: This study aims to determine the relationship between the knowledge and
attitudes of the millennial generation in purchasing pharmaceutical products online.
Method: This study is an analytic descriptive study with a cross-sectional design.
Sampling accidental sampling. This research instrument uses a questionnaire. The
sample amounted to 160 respondents from all regions in Indonesia. The research
was conducted on respondents who met the inclusion criteria where the
respondents were men/women aged 23-43 years and had purchased pharmaceutical
products online.
Result: An overview of the level of knowledge and attitudes of the millennial
generation towards purchasing online pharmaceutical products in Indonesia shows
41% of millennials with a sufficient level of knowledge with an excellent attitude
of 95% towards purchasing online pharmaceutical products in Indonesia. The
results showed a significant relationship between knowledge and attitude
(p=0.000). In addition, the results also show that there is a significant relationship
between gender characteristics with the level of knowledge (p=0.046).
Conclusions: It can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between
the level of knowledge and attitude. There is a significant relationship between
gender characteristics with the level of knowledge. However, the results of the all
characteristic variables with attitude and the characteristics of age and occupation
with the level of knowledge showed results that were more than 0.05, indicating
that there was no significant relationship.
