Pengaruh Penggunaan Pasir Putih Kuarsa Kabupaten Kampar sebagai Pengganti Sebagian Filler Terhadap Karakteristik Marshall Campuran Asphalt Concrete Binder Course (AC-BC)
Abstract
The road is a requirement to support community activities, therefore in road construction, it is needed a good construction. Developments of innovative road pavement structure is needed to be done. One of them is by using white quartz sand from Kampar area. Quartz sand is excavated material composed of crystals of silica (SiO2) and compounds containing impurities are washed during the deposition process. This study was conducted to determine the use of white quartz sand as part substitute filler on marshall characteristics in the mixture of Asphalt Concrete Binder Course (ACBC).
This study was conducted by creating a test specimen as well as replace part substitute filler Clereng stone dust with filler white quartz sand. This testing was conducted by Marshall method to obtain the value of Marshall Properties, with the comparison of filler white quartz 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, dan 100%. After it was obtained the optimum bitumen content value, then it conducted immersion testing and indirect tensile strength. immersion and indirect tensile strength is not directly conducted to obtain the stability and tensile strength values.
The analysis result showed that the obatained optimum bitumen level value which can be measured filler white quartz and stone dust concentration variation of 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. respectively 5,4%, 5,6%, 5,69%, 5,79% and 6,05. This is because the white quartz sand has a silica content that can improve the stability of the mixture, so that the value of the stability of the mixture with the content variation filler white quartz sand and stone dust 100%: 0% will be greater than the variation of the mixture without the levels of filler white quartz sand.
