Uji Penggunaan Elektro Membran Zeolit dalam Menurunkan Kadar Kromium (Cr) pada Limbah Cair Penyamakan Kulit
Abstract
A zeolite is an aluminosilicate with a framework structure enclosing cavities occupied by large ions and water molecules, both of which have considerable freedom of movement, permitting ion-exchange and reversible dehydration. Zeolite has a hollow space structure and usually this hollow space is filled by water and cation that can be exchanged and has pores in its structure. In this analysis test it used material of zeolite and voltage constituting a chemical-electro process resulted from a direct current. The present study was done by variation of electrolyte solutions 0,00 N and 0,01 N HN03 and voltages of 0, 12, 25, 35 volt and in time interval the taking of samples are 0; 60; 120; 180; 240; 320; 400 minutes. With existence of zeolite membrane it is hoped it will occur absorption, cation and anion exchanges in liquid waste substance of skin tanning in the form of chromium. From results of the study it was known that the best efficiency in reducing the chrome concentration is in the variation without electrolyte solution that is in the voltage of 15 volt as big as 81,26%, while in the variation of electrolyte solution addition the best efficiency is in 25 volt as big as 82,65%.
